Mudgee is part of the New South Wales Central Ranges along with Cowra and Orange. The name is the Aboriginal word for ‘Nest in the Hills’ and its been referred to as a fertile bowl surrounded by hills. The region is considered as primarily red wine country and the reds are renowned for flavour, intensity and mouthfeel. However, peach and fig dominated Chardonnays are prolific.
