About Wine Selectors

November/December Food Match Winner

Congratulations Ms Cheryl Price! Your suggestion of roasted spatchcock; stuffed with lemon thyme; garlic and fennel; accompanied by zucchini gratin; new potatoes and asparagus with pecorino to go with the McWilliam’s Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon 2004 had us all running to the kitchen to get cooking! Simply scrumptious. You’ve won a 6-pack of premium quality wine valued at over $250.

November/December Survey Results

In our November/December survey we asked you all about wine labels – which ones you knew and which designs you preferred. It came as no surprise that those brands which we see most often in the media – Jacob’s Creek, Wolf Blass and Tyrrell’s – had the highest recognition. Boutique or smaller brands such as Chapel Hill, Alkoomi, Campbells and Willow Bridge Estate were also recognised but to a lesser extent. Despite the difference in levels of recognition it was great to see that you are familiar with the boutique brands as Wine Selectors continually strives to build relationships with Australia’s smaller producers in order to bring you a diversity of names and styles.

In terms of label design, Campbells was considered the most desirable followed by Wolf Blass and Chapel Hill. Jacob’s Creek, which had the highest level of recognition, had a surprise ranking of last when it came to label design preference.
