Domenico Scarpantoni immigrated to Australia from the Abruzzi region of central Italy in 1952 and settled in McLaren Vale. In 1979, the winery was built with the aid of his two sons. The grapes for this wine were harvested in the cool of night, crushed and underwent a long cool fermentation to retain the vibrant primary fruit character. Quite a full style for unwooded.
