For just $27.50 a bottle you’ll enjoy a superb 6-pack of wines that left the Tasting Panel agog. Includes a standout selection of diverse Australian white and red wines as well as a French inclusion from the famed Chablis region.
For this very special selection the Panel has chosen two of their favourite Chardonnays. The Howard Park Flint Rock Chardonnay 2010 from Great Southern is a vibrant, youthful drop with terrific texture while The Lane Vineyard Beginning Chardonnay 2008 from the Adelaide Hills features a savoury, toasty palate with freshness and length. Then to compare there’s the William Fevre Chablis Premier Cru Montée de Tonnerre 2006 from a legendary French producer that has minerally purity and hints of seaweed and ozone.
In the reds the traditional varieties are showcased in the Reilly’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 from the Clare Valley with a concentrated palate of layered sweet fruit, cassis, licorice and chocolate along with a classic Barossan Shiraz from Elderton characterised by silken fruit flavours on an elegant palate. Representing the rising wave of Spanish varietals comes the Allanmere Tempranillo 2007 from the Hunter, which allures with an elegant, plush, ripe palate with gamey complexity, earthy flavours and a red fruit core.
