The 2003 vintage in Champagne was described as exceptionally chaotic with cold periods followed by extreme heat. The result however, was grapes with strong concentration of sugar and very healthy fruit. After four years maturation and six months resting after disgorgement, the finished wine presents opening touches of barnyard followed by yeast/bread characters. Very rich red fruits on the palate entry introduce honey and brioche flavours leading to a dry/toasty finish. The full Chardonnay-like oak influence is sweeter in style.
