This week, Nicole Gow presents the NSW vs SA mixed dozen celebrating the many talents in these world famous wine states. Yours for just $11.50 a bottle!
New South Wales highlights include the Tamburlaine Natural Selection Orange Chardonnay 2011 from Australia’s largest producer of organic wines. Plush, juicy and varietal, it has sweet mix of melon, fig and stonefruit with subtle lees and oak-derived texture adding interest. The Panel was also impressed with the Paynes Crossing Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 from the Hunter Valley. It allures with lifted raspberry, boysenberry and sweet vanilla aromas, while the palate is fine, elegant, clean and wonderfully soft with a pretty and slight structure with supple, sweet tannins.
The South Australian standouts start with the Norfolk Rise Vineyard Pinot Grigio 2011 from Mount Benson on the Limestone Coast with its lifted savoury pear aromas and juicy fruit salad flavours on the plush, textured palate with savoury persistence and soft acidity. The quality continues with the Bremerton Willson Family Cabernet Shiraz 2011 from Langhorne Creek. Juicy, ripe and plush, it has a ripe core of curranty fruit, soft tannins and well integrated oak in support.
Like all of our wines, every bottle in this dozen has passed our stringent Tasting Panel judging process, so we know you’ll be just as blown away by the quality as we were. But stocks are limited – don’t miss out!
