Brisbane's Alastair McLeod has an unpretentious attitude to food that’s perfectly matched by this approachable Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir.
Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir is an enigmatic phenomenon wrapped in the proverbial riddle. It is powerful yet unassuming, it is complex but approachable. It is Australian yet its roots are firmly planted in Burgundy. The medium ruby appearance doesn’t quite prepare for the aroma replete with varietal aromatics and earth driven characters. The palate is equally powerful with generous black fruit flavours, but the structure is perfectly juxtaposed, being faultlessly soft and supple. This Pinot Noir is an iron fist in a velvet glove, perfect for food that is created equally passionately to reflect purity and origin.
