Hugh Hamilton is a fifth generation winemaker from McLaren Vale making rich, regional wines. Saperavi is a darkly coloured and acidic variety native to Georgia in the former Soviet Union.
It’s deep red in colour showing clean, red berry fruit on the nose with a touch of cedary oak and slight spearmint lift. The ripe, plush core of plummy fruit is full bodied with earthy, spice-laden complexity. Youthful tannins and a long, savoury mouthfeel make for an intriguing blend that works very well.
