Allandale Semillon 2008

Allandale have been making critically acclaimed Hunter wines since 1978 and Semillon is one of their flagship varieties. They describe 2008 as a “finer year for Hunter Semillon”, making this a superb example of the variety.
 
Medium yellow in the glass with a fresh lemony lift and notes of fig and toast on the nose, this Semillon has a tightly-wound palate with loads of zesty, citrussy acidity and the beginning of secondary buttered toast and honey starting to appear.
