David Hook planted vines on the family grazing property at Pothana in the lower Hunter Valley in the 1980s, his wines are excellent expressions of the region.
Pale lemon with a green hue, this wine shows zesty yet ripe aromas of melon and stonefruit with subtle, buttery notes and sweet oak on the nose. It’s rich and ripe, yet clean with a peachy core of fruit and fresh, grapefruit-like acidity. It has lovely weight - creamy and smooth across the palate with nutty, leesy notes adding complexity before obvious but well-integrated oak adds support.
