Giant Steps Sexton Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

Owner and jazz fan Phil Sexton named Giant Steps after John Coltrane’s visionary album of the same name. All his wines are made from hand-picked fruit with minimal intervention to ensure the purity of the regional characteristics.
 
In the glass: Medium lemon.
On the nose: Peach, grapefruit, smoked almond and vanillin oak.
On the palate: Opens with powerful layers of stonefruit and smokey oak with rich, textural almond notes throughout and fresh, poised acidity supporting the rich fruit. A class act with delicious oak and everything in balance.
