This Tasmanian Pinot Gris comes from 18-year-old vines in the Tamar Valley and Pipers Brook regions, resulting in a terrific example of the variety.
Slight copper in the glass with a bronze hue, it has a complex nose of fragrant pear, dried berries, jasmine and gardenia potpurri, bay leaf and cinnamon spice. The palate is generous, full bodied and dry with delicate layers of paw-paw, honey, lemon, lime peel and apple with ginger and nutty layers of cinnamon spice. It has a fine chalky richness and mineral dryness to finish, which is achieved by the natural skin tannins. Well complemented by a subtle oak influence adding weight, poise and complexity to the palate.
