Pooles Rock International Series Montagny 1er Cru Les Burnins Chardonnay 2009

From Usher Tinkler, one of the Hunter Valley’s most influential winemakers, comes this beautifully textured and savoury Chardonnay – another terrific introduction to the complexity of Burgundy.
 
This wine was crafted in Montagny, Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy at Château de Chamilly by winemaker, Usher Tinkler. Hand picked fruit was whole bunch pressed prior to transferral of juice to French oak barrels for wild fermentation.
 
It’s a bright medium straw colour with light peach, earth, flint and savoury oak aromas. Plush yet tight with layers of peach, nutmeg and cashew, resulting in a mouth-watering wine with a creamy texture, fantastic balance, line and length. Enjoy – it’s a great introduction to the complexity of Burgundy.
