In the winery: After fermentation, the fruit was pressed in a 130-year-old wooden basket press to prevent over-extraction of the tannins.
In the glass: Deep dark red black.
On the nose: Inky, dark plummy fruit over mocha-like oak with touches of dried fig, earth and black pepper.
On the palate: Rich with dense plum and mulberry fruit well balanced by toasty, cedary oak, firm, grainy tannins and red berry acidity.
