Balgownie Estate is revered for producing wines with power and regional expression - and this is a seriously good Shiraz for serious Shiraz lovers, which will cellar beautifully until 2021.
Balgownie Estate was one of the pioneers of commercial winemaking in Bendigo, first planting vines in 1969. Tobias Anstead has crafted a Shiraz, which is deep, dark red to black in colour with a youthful, peppery spice lift. Its mid weight palate has good fruit intensity and vibrant acidity. This 2001 Shiraz is drinking beautifully now, but has years of potential development ahead.
