Shiraz may be the dominant red in the Clare Valley, but the Cabernet can be stunning as well as this excellent example from Reilly's Wines shows.
Inky dark red. Plum, leather, black olive, mocha and bay leaf. An opulent wine with a powerful yet refined mix of plum and blackcurrant, touches of Chesterfield and savoury spice, good balance of tannin and acidity and a long, decadent finish.
