This cool climate Great Southern Shiraz was produced with fruit from the Concongella Vineyard on the White Gravels Hill, where, as the name suggests, ‘white gravels’ lie over granite.
It was produced using traditional methods including basket pressing, large format vat maturation and gravity racking.
Inky black fruits dominate this very dense black red coloured wine with fresh blackcurrant and blackberry, spicy white and black pepper and attractive tinderbox-like oak. Its classic Great Western palate has a dense, powerful core of black fruits, licorice and chocolate supported by deep yet fine tannins. A great cellaring wine.
