Saperavi is an ancient Georgian variety that literally translates to ink or dye in the local dialect, in reference to its intense colour. This is a delicious example.
Deep red to black. Dark cherry, plum, spice and cedar oak. Full-bodied and dense, with a ripe and juicy mix of currant and mulberry, notes of five spice and clove, toasty oak, firm tannin foundation and a powerful finish. A meal in a glass.
