Bird in Hand’s Nest Egg range is only made in outstanding vintages with careful ageing in the finest of French oak resulting in wines of excellence like this 2012 Chardonnay.
This Adelaide Hills Chardonnay underwent malolactic fermentation in the finest of French oak. Partial use of wild yeast followed by lees stirring further enhanced the sophistication and length of the palate.
Brilliant fine straw with a green hue in the glass, it has a nose featuring very attractive perfumed aromatics of nectarine, refined spice, cashew and lashings of cedary oak. Quite a rich Nest Egg with a palate showing elegant, finely poised citrus and nectarine power with velvety texture and length. Lovely layers of butterscotch, stonefruit and cream biscuit and excellent acidity provide balance to the long finish.
