Lagrein is an ancient grape variety from Trentino-Alto Adige in north-eastern Italy and offers a unique alternative to wines like those made from Cabernet Sauvignon.
Deep purple in colour, with plum, mulberry, blackberry and clove aromas. Palate shows a riot of black and purple fruit flavour with kitchen spice and tobacco complexity, lovely fruit depth, fine tannins and well-judged supporting oak.
