From Coonawarra, the Jim Barry Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is full-bodied, with a plush core of black fruit, layers of cassis, vanilla and mocha, ripe tannin harmony and lovely oak on the seamless finish. A well-made wine.
The Peter Lehmann Light Pass Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 from the Barossa Valley is a richer style, but shows all the classic Cabernet traits. It’s powerful with signature varietal cassis, redcurrant and plum characters, deep tannin foundation and supporting oak. Shows good balance of primary fruit and secondary characters throughout.
