While they’re not seeking certification, Crittenden Estate has a dedication to keeping their vineyard as natural as possible. Taste the results in this plush Chardonnay.
The fruit for this wine, from some of the oldest vines on the Mornington Peninsula, was whole bunch pressed to new, one and two year old French oak. After fermentation, the wine was stored for 10 months and the lees were stirred back in to add complexity and richness.
The resulting wine has a rich nose of melon, stonefruit, spice, struck match and cashew oak. Intense yet delicate, the palate shows peach and citrus, toast and nutty oak with notes of spice and flint. The mouthfeel is plush yet refined with attractive minerality, balanced acidity and well-judged oak.
