The Dry Dam Riesling, with its zestiness and great ageing potential, proves McLaren Vale can succeed with Riesling as well as its more famous South Australian neighbours. Rich and exotic, the 2011 is an outstanding expression of the style.
This bright, pale straw coloured wine greets the nose with lifted, savoury aromas of preserved lime, lemon rind and faint tropicals. Its off-dry palate entry moves towards citrus and orange blossom varietals and finishes with focussed, zesty sherberty acidity. Will age well.
