Valued at $30 RRP, the Eagles Rest Flat Block Chardonnay 2013 was crafted using fruit from the single Flat Block vineyard, and is still surprisingly youthful. It’s very classy, bright and fresh, with long nectarine and white pineapple layers, with a positive undercurrent of deluxe barrel.
The lovely La Lutte Chardonnay 2021 is a boutique release from former Seppelt winemaker Tony Royal who accessed fruit from the Yarra to craft this attractive wine. It delivers quite a rich and creamy entry with stone fruit and citrus in harmony with grapefruit acidity, soft melon-like texture, slatey minerality and subtle supporting oak.
