From one of the most iconic family-owned wineries in France’s Rhône Valley, comes this fresh and well-balanced Syrah, which will continue to develop over the coming years.
Guigal Estate was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in the Rhône department of eastern France. It is home to a unique vineyard that has thrived for 2,400 years.
Etienne’s grandson Phillpe oversaw the production of this wine, which was sourced from vines that are up to 50 years old. The 100% Syrah fruit was fermented in stainless steel tanks and allowed to mature for 16 months in oak barriques.
Medium to dark red in appearance, it has powerful black currant, anise and soy sauce aromas, leading to a strong palate with deep, dark fruit complexity. This amazingly fresh wine is well-balanced and will continue to develop over the coming years.
