From a vineyard with some of the oldest plantings in North East Victoria comes the Baileys of Glenrowan Organic Shiraz 2019 ($27 RRP). Full-bodied, intense and plush with a pristine core of red and black fruit, vibrant texture, deep tannins, subtle oak and touches of clove, anise and black pepper extending the long finish, it’s a lovely wine to enjoy with a fragrant, spicy vegetarian curry.
Winemaker Anthony D’Onise has been a long-time pioneer in the crafting of organic wines, and his Pig in the House Organic Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 ($25 RRP) is a great example of his talents. A full-bodied, vibrant and youthful wine that’s jam-packed with dark fruit flavour, touches of black olive, mocha and cedar, supple tannins and a long, earthy and powerful finish, it’s one to serve alongside some barbequed pasture-fed lamb.
