Henschke Mount Edelstone Vineyard Shiraz 2010

This historic Shiraz recently celebrated its 60th birthday and Stephen Henschke says, “it is arguably the oldest single vineyard wine made in Australia.”
 
This extraordinary Shiraz is bright, medium red in colour with spicy red and black fruits, pepper, crushed leaf and cedary oak on the nose. The palate is soft and elegant with earthy layers of sour cherry, sweet plum and blackberry with fine, velvety tannins and well-judged, high quality oak. Still tight at this stage with fantastic length and persistence, it has the potential to develop beautifully until at least 2030.
