Experience Hunter Gold in the glass with these two superb stars from the 2012 Hunter Valley Wine Show - including the Audrey Wilkinson Museum Reserve Semillon 2006 and Pokolbin Estate Reserve Shiraz 2010.
Red wine lovers will relish in the flavours of the Pokolbin Estate Reserve Shiraz 2010, which has been crafted in classic Hunter Valley style. It’s a medium to dark red colour with a plummy nose showing hints of earth, peppery spice and cedary oak. Abounding with delicious savoury characteristics, the dense core of spicy cherry appeals with additional earthy regionality. It has a supple mouthfeel with layers of charry oak and ripe tannins in support.
Also named Best Dry White Wine of Show at the 2013 Hunter Valley Wine Show and glimmering a medium to full yellow in the glass with a slight green hue, the Audrey Wilkinson Museum Reserve Semillon 2006 is alive with straw, lanolin, toast and preserved lemon aromas. It’s beautiful and still youthful with a lovely depth of lemony fruit that’s beginning to show early stages of toasty development. Brimming with gorgeous layers of flavour, yet still fresh with savoury length and persistence, this superb wine is a fantastic example of aged Hunter Semillon.
