Saperavi, a Georgian variety, translates to 'ink' or 'dye', being one of the few grape varieties that have bright red flesh, which creates deep, full-bodied wines.
Opaque crimson in appearance. Powerful aromas of blackcurrant, iodine, dark chocolate and tar. Inky and dense, with lashings of black prune and mocha, over firm and drying tannins. A serious wine with excellent varietal character.
