The northern Tasmanian 2013 growing season was characterised by almost perfect conditions for flowering and fruit set, followed by long warm summer ripening days. The result is this fantastic cool climate Sauvignon Blanc crafted by Rene Bezemer.
Very pale lemon in the glass, this 2013 Sauvignon Blanc opens with lifted pear, gooseberry and spicy citrus on the nose. The tight palate is showing savoury layers of pear, citrus, tropical fruit and wild honey with a delicious leesy, chalky complexity. This is a terrific example of cool climate winemaking with spice, texture and balance.
