The Penfolds Bin 389 is known as “Baby Grange” as components of it are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange. The 2009 is the 50th consecutive vintage.
Vibrant red to purple in the glass it displays rich, lifted dark fruit, dried herb, spice and licorice aromas. The palate flows on from the nose with a ripe mix of juicy black fruit flavours, mocha and anise with a solid tannin structure and great length. A very good vintage and one for the cellar.
