A new varietal on the Australian market, and gaining in popularity. It's a big and bold red style, and this one by Peter Drayton is an excellent example.
Full red black. Intense dark fruit, currant, prune and cedar. Full-bodied, dense and concentrated with lashings of black fruit, layers of clove, spice and vanilla, firm tannins, and a long, earthy finish. A tannic wine but the tannins are really ripe.
