The Tyrrell's Special Release Fiano 2021 was crafted using fruit sourced from two blocks in the Hunter Valley’s Broke Fordwich sub-region and is a stunning example of this promising emerging variety. It's medium-weight yet with ripe layers of apple and lemon, with a saline texture, juicy core depth and a clean, dry finish.
Although arguably more well-known for its superb cool climate Riesling and Shiraz, the Canberra district also produces excellent Cabernet, as the wonderful Shaw Wines Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 shows. The palate delights with fresh and bright black fruit, black olive and black pepper depth, equally impressive oak and attractive savoury spice notes to finish.
