Soumah Upper Ngumby Pinot Noir 2016

This Pinot Noir is a deluxe red from the team at Soumah, who make their wines with the aim of capturing the charm of Northern Italy, ‘but the provenance of the majestic Yarra Valley.’
 
In the glass: Medium density ruby.
On the nose: Redcurrant, red cherry, white pepper and vanillin oak.
On the palate: An elegant, polished wine with lovely red fruit depth and peppery complexity. The tannins are fine and silken, the acidity fresh and the oak classy and well judged. Although medium bodied, it's deluxe, long and lingering.
