Thompson Estate is in the Margaret River sub-region of Wilyabrup where the combination of sunshine and cooling sea breezes results in stunning wines like this nicely balanced Chardonnay.
In the glass, it’s mid straw in colour, tending to bright. The nose is characterised by lifted stonefruit and grilled nut aromas with a hint of oak. Oatmeal and marzipan features on the palate, which is showing lovely texture, structure, complexity and barrel work. It has a creamy texture and long, leesy, toasty persistence.
