Voyager Estate Shiraz 2013

Like most Margaret River Shiraz, fruit for the Voyager Estate Shiraz 2013 was grown in stony, gravelly soils which reduces the inherent vigour of the vines and produces berries with excellent flavour profiles.
 
In the winery: A small parcel of Viognier was co-fermented with a batch of Shiraz at below 25°C to maintain the aromatics and colour.
In the glass: Deep brick red.
On the nose: Concentrated dark berry fruit and fresh cedary oak lift.
On the palate: Medium weight, but sweetly fruited with juicy red and dark berry layers, fresh herb complexity and light vanillin oak. Savoury acidity and chalky tannins dry and lengthen the finish.
