Marinated Spanner Crab Recipe

Marinated spanner crab

  • 1 tbsp red onion, finely diced

  • 1 tbsp carrot, finely diced

  • 1 tbsp cucumber, finely diced

  • 1 tbsp red pepper, finely diced
  • 1⁄2 tbsp spring onion, finely sliced
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp lime juice

  • 1⁄2 tbsp caster sugar

  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 200g Queensland CEAS spanner crab meat (raw)

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Chives


  1. Place all ingredients except crab meat and olive oil in a bowl and stir well to make sure sugar dissolved.
  2. Add pinch of salt and white pepper to taste and then add the crab meat and mix until the meat separates.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.
  4. To serve, spread the crab meat mix on serving plates, drizzle the extra virgin olive oil on top and garnish with chives.
