MY MARKET KITCHEN - MEET THE CHEFS

LAURA SHARRAD

After coming in runner-up in season six of MasterChef Australia, Laura Sharrad (then Laura Cassai) took the skills and opportunity from the MasterChef kitchen and parlayed them into an enviable food career. After the show she worked as the pastry chef alongside Jock Zonfrillo at his acclaimed hatted restaurant Orana, before moving onto Andre’s Cucina for three years.

She spent time at the award-winning Hentley Farm in the Barossa Valley in 2018, before embarking on her own restaurant, Nido Bar and Pasta which she opened in Adelaide last year. The venture was a special one for the now 24-year-old, opening the space alongside her new husband and fellow chef Max Sharrad.

 

MIKE REID

Mike Reid lives for food and cooking. Whether it’s in his restaurants in London or sharing his passion on television, Mike is continually planning his next meal or recipe. In March 2020, the relaunch of critically acclaimed BBC cooking show Ready, Steady, Cook hit the screens on BBC1. Mike starred alongside a new cast of chefs and UK’s favourite presenter, Rylan.

Meanwhile, in Australia, Mike has become a co-host of TEN’s Ten Minute Kitchen and My Market Kitchen, as well as a guest appearing alongside James Martin on Saturday Kitchen in the UK, and Justine Schofield on Everyday Gourmet Diana Chan on Asia Unplated, here in Australia.

 

WINE SELECTORS - MEET OUR WINE EXPERT

ADAM WALLS

An active associate judge at wine shows around the country, Adam was awarded the Fellowship at the 2015 Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show, and went on to complete wine-based training in both Europe and Australia, earning himself a WSET Diploma in Wine and Spirits in the process.

Awarded Dux of the prestigious Len Evans Tutorial in 2019, in 2020 he was named Co-Chair of the Wine Selectors Tasting Panel alongside esteemed winemaker PJ Charteris, where he continues in his passion of uncovering great Australian wines to share with the public.

A regular fixture at food and wine events as well as on TEN’s My Market Kitchen, if Adam was a wine, he would be a Barossa Shiraz – big, generous and undeniably popular!
