Hunter Valley's Top Wine Tours

The oldest wine region in Australia, the Hunter Valley has so much to offer visitors – world-class wineries and cellar doors, award-wining restaurants, gorgeous guesthouses and hotels, and stunning scenery.

There’s no shortage of winery tours and ways to get around, so we’ve chosen a few to get you started on planning your next Hunter Valley wine adventure.

The owners and operators of iHop Hunter Valley, are proud locals, passionate wine and produce enthusiasts and love sharing what they think are some of the region’s best kept secrets and hidden local gems! They offer self-guided Hop-on-Hop-Off tours, a food and drink pairing Taste ‘n’ Graze the Hunter tour, progressive tasting and dining night tours, customised corporate tours, and unique package deals like the Fly-n-Hop tour.

Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Tours is owned and operated by a local ‘bloke’, who really loves his food, wine and the Hunter Valley. There are five different tours to choose from, or they can tailor a tour to suit your individual interests. Tours are for 2 to 14 guests and they have access to many of the small family-owned wineries that have excellent wine, but don’t take bigger groups.

If you’re into fast cars and after an experience that is ultra-luxe, super-duper impressive and is guaranteed to knock the socks off your nearest and dearest, a supercar escape to the Hunter Valley with Prancing Horse is in order. To give you an idea of just how indulgent these ‘tours’ are, they involve driving  some of the world’s finest exotic cars like the new Ferrari 488 GTB and  Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4, lunch at the award-winning  restaurants, cooking classes, luxury accommodation, private wine tastings, professional photography and so much more! Oh, yes please!

Get all romantic with your special someone, have a fun day out with friends and family, or get amongst it on a girls’ day out. A horse-drawn carriage wine tour with Hunter Valley Horses really is a great way to explore a host of Hunter wineries. Their relaxed tours ensure you have time at each cellar door to savour the stunning wine, plus enjoy local cheeses, olives and much more.

Hunter Valley Boutique Wine Tours is owned and operated by Pippa Travers, a local who just loves to show off the region and share her knowledge about wines, and the Valley. You can choose from a great range of half and full day tours to boutique cellar doors and wineries, including one that focusses solely on organic and biodynamic wineries and producers.

Take to the skies with Slattery Helicopters, the Hunter Valley’s leading and most experienced helicopter company. Their most popular and highly exclusive package, the Cellar Door and Lunch Tour gives you red carpet treatment, with that superstar ‘door to door’ experience. Combine award-winning wines, local gourmet cuisine, and the thrill of experiencing almost every square inch of the Hunter Valley in your own private helicopter.

If you need a wheelchair friendly vehicle, Montebello Estate Tours have a bus that offers wheelchair access. They run half day, and full day tours showing the best the region has to offer. Weekend tours are in small groups of up to 10 people, although you can also arrange private tours.
