"Rhône rider"
Dandelion Vineyards Honeypot of the Barossa Roussanne 2025
A well structured instance of a traditionally blended Rhône variety. Creamy aromatics of grapefruit, green melon, figs, preserved lemon, lemon zest, limes and white flowers. Palate is soft, round, generous and layered with fresh and preserved lemons, figs and yellow flowers.
Pairing and cellaring
Winemaker Elena Brooks opts for French mustard chicken breasts: “Its textured richness softens the mustard’s bite, while its freshness lifts the sauce.” Cellar 1-2 years.

"Santé!"
Chaffey Bros La Conquista! Tempranillo Garnacha Graciano 2023
A classic Iberian blend. The aromatics are generous black cherry and juicy blackberries seasoned with fresh leather and brown earth, the palate is round, soft and nicely integrated as a textural mix of fruit, secondary oak, spice and tannins. Beautiful.
Pairing and cellaring
Owner Daniel Chaffey Hartwig suggests Provençal herb crusted lamb cutlets, where the “fragrant herbs echo the wine’s spice and savoury lift.” Cellar for 2-3 years.

"Très fantastique"
HEIRLOOM VINEYARDS PINOT NOIR 2025
A fantastic example of Nouveaux ‘drink now’ Pinot. Youthful, broody but bright aromatic expressions characterised by forest floor, pine needles, black and blue plums, black cherry and a wild blueberry edge. Palate is crunchy, long and fresh with a lovely mix of fleshy blueberries, red cherries and rhubarb, with silky textural appeal.
Pairing and cellaring
“I would pair this wine with grilled steak with Epoisse sauce,” says Brooks of this sibling label wine. “A dish to match its decadence.” Cellar now to 2029.

"Vive le GSM"
CHAFFEY BROS LA RESISTANCE! OLD VINE GRENACHE SYRAH MOURVÈDRE 2023
A French standard with good reason. Ripe, rich, dark fruited characteristics meld neatly with earthy red fruits, mountain herbs and pepper. Palate is weighty, yet soft and round with lots of depth and generosity across the mouthfeel. Blackberries, cassis, tarry/charry wild raspberries and red cherries flow through to a soft, elegant finish.
Pairing and cellaring
Chaffey Bros winemaker Huon Fechner recommends a slow braised duck and pork cassoulet, “the ultimate French comfort food.” Cellar 5-10 years.
