Wines of the Season: A Proud Heritage
an Historic hunter winery
Established on the beautiful Hunter River in 1828, Dalwood Estate is regarded as the birthplace of Hunter Valley wine.
As the longest running commercial vineyard in Australia, Dalwood Estate purchased cuttings from the first Australian vine collections of Macarthur, Busby, Shepherd and Blaxland. Early colonial Dalwood wines from those vines won prizes at international exhibitions. It's a proud heritage.
Today, Dalwood Estate has been restorted to its former glory, allowing it to continue to raise the benchmark in Australian winemaking, with its talented team placing passion, expertise and technique at the heart of all they do.
With that philosophy in mind, they are proud to bring you an outstanding selection of Hunter Valley wines, including Semillon, the region's star white, born from a legacy close to two centuries in the making.
Dalwood Estate Semillon 2018
Dalwood Estate Semillon grows in sandy loam soil on the south bank of the Hunter River. The 2018 vintage was warm, dry and low yielding. The fruit was hand picked in mid January and the wine is fragrant with lemongrass aromas and a pure, elegant palate of citrus and tropical fruits.
The 2018 Dalwood Estate Semillon is a beautifully refreshing wine to drink now, and will continue to develop for many years.
