Bird in Hand Two in the Bush Merlot Cabernet 2014

Merlot is often used to fill out the mid-palate of Cabernet, but Bird in Hand has flipped this to produce a deeply soft and plummy Merlot that has it’s finish extended by the addition of Cabernet’s fine, grainy tannin structure.
 
In the glass: Deep, plummy red.
On the nose: Rich dark berry fruit lift.
On the palate: Ripe raspberry and currant with notes of dried herb. Fresh and tight with clean acidity and good flavour length.
