A northeastern Italian variety, Lagrein is still an emerging variety in Langhorne Creek, but if this 2013 Bremerton Willson Family example is anything to go by, we really have something to look forward to.
Deep red purple in appearance, this Lagrein opens with an intense, inky nose of spicy black fruits, licorice and strong mocha-like toasty oak. The palate is sweet, concentrated and super intense with a mouth-coating mix of plump black fruits and juicy tannins.
