In the winery: Fruit for this wine was off 23-year-old vines on the Anvers Vineyard in the Echunga district of the Adelaide Hills. 100% whole bunches were incorporated into the fermentation process, adding complexity and spice.
In the glass: Deep red.
On the nose: Fragrant black cherry, blackberry, white pepper and whole bunch Campari spice.
On the palate: An iron fist in a velvet glove, it’s smooth and silky with vibrant black fruit flavour, exotic spice notes, zesty cool climate acidity, well-judged oak and a long, spicy finish.
