With Western Australia’s oldest cool climate vineyard, Forest Hill consistently presents boutique wines with strong regional characters. Their Block Series is made from the property’s very best parcels of hand-picked carefully-selected fruit.
In the winery: The 2009 Block 9 may be the best yet in terms of structure with excellent skin and tannin maturity being attained. It was picked nearly a month later than the 2008, later ripening being one of the goals for this site.
In the glass: Medium red.
On the nose: Rich dark fruits, currant, liquorice.
On the palate: Elegant and layered with dark fruit and spice and a toasty, cedary complexity. It features a lovely texture with ripe, supple tannins and savoury length.
