Grossi Barbera 2011

The wonderful versatility of Barbera is making it increasingly popular with Australian winelovers. Guy loves the cool climate characters of this King Valley example that’s fantastic with meaty pasta sauces like his pappardelle with spiced veal ragu.
 
The tannins are not overpowering, yet the weight is assertive and the acid provides freshness and vibrancy. This wine is bright and youthful. The nose displays morello cherries and a slight dried Italian herb lift. The palate is dry and savoury with medium concentration. The finish highlights the values of cool growing conditions in the King Valley with an overall feeling of freshness that will match well to food.
