Geoff Hardy and his family began planting the K1 vineyard in 1987, at Kuitpo (‘ky-po’), at the southern extremity of the Adelaide Hills. Twenty-seven years later, it produced this lovely regional Shiraz.
Bright black cherry aromas supported by warm vanillin oak with background hints of licorice and herb introduce this Shiraz. Quite a spicy Adelaide Hills style with lovely regional lift and poise, it has good concentration of black cherry and fine layered tannins, ensuring it will continue to improve in the cellar.
