Mr Hugh Penbro Vineyard White Pony Cabernet Franc 2018

Mr Hugh refers to winemaker Hugh Cuthbertson, who has been making wine off the Penbro vineyard in Victoria’s Yea Valley for years. White Pony is a cheeky reference to the iconic Bordeaux winery, Cheval Blanc.
 
In the glass: Bright, deep red.
On the nose: Black tea, cassis, plum and mint on the nose.
On the palate: Medium-bodied and quite elegant with graphite-like tannins underpinning the red and black core fruit, attractive bay leaf and black tea complexity, and oak sitting
in the background.
