Winemaker Ben Riggs describes this premium McLaren Vale Shiraz as the “cult wine of the range” and it’s a blend of four great McLaren Vale Shiraz vineyards: Gateway, Piebald Gully, Penny’s Hill and Bradens.
It underwent traditional open fermentation, finishing the process after pressing in oak (approx. 80% French and the balance American, 40% of which was new oak).
Deep, dark red in the glass, it exudes inky blue and black fruit aromas, sweet spice and deluxe vanillin oak. The palate is very rich and decadent with an almost sweet concentration of black fruit intensity over well balanced oak. Notes of earth and black pepper, silky tannins and a hint of leathery complexity on the generous finish.
