The warm days and cool nights of the Great Southern region make for perfect fruit growing conditions, resulting in harmonious wines like this 2010 Chardonnay.
Established in 1998 in the rapidly emerging cool climate Frankland River region, Ferngrove’s vineyards boast 225 hectares of premium estate grown fruit. As a result, award-winning winemaker Kim Horton has been able to create this spectacular wine. This Chardonnay is crafted from two different clones that were picked at night, vinified separately, fermented in French oak barrels and left to mature for nine months.
The resulting wine is bright, mid yellow in colour with a subtle nose of nuts, smoky lees and stonefruit aromatics. The powerful palate is rich and harmonious with well-balanced fruit flavours and creamy, textural elements.
